In general these guys seem pretty great. I had to give them a lower rating for the really slow service I got today. Only one person working both the counter and fetching. It took almost an hour getting through the line and the transaction.
In the other have, he did prevent me from ordering the wrong wire for the ground. They are helpful, in general.
Fast and timely unloading.
I went there as a kid while Saturn was in view. Our dad wanted us to be sure and see it. Ill never forget for as long as I live. Im 62 now, and was 8y/o when we visited. the other memory I have is when my older brother and his friend locked me in the mens bathroom, and a man walked out of the stall. Fortunately the man let me out. lol What a great education, it spurred me on to learn science and math as an adult. Fascinating place to visit. Check ahead of time to see if any planets are in view. Saturn was more beautiful than Ive even seen in any photos. Ill remember it forever. HIGHLY recommended
There was snow up there! Great views. But the road there is looking and winding.
Definitely worth a visit if you have some curiosity about space & how people explored the space in early days! One can surely amazed by history and one man ambition (& $$$$$$$$$) to turn this mountain into great observatory! Summer time events are good for kids where you can actually get to see celestial objects thru those huge telescopes. But winters you can find a snow up here! & if you are just looking for some adventure drive then be ready to take those hairpin 360 bends all the way up! All in all, definitely recommended place if you are in Bay Area!
Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff and some cool exhibits including a large telescope; and to top it off, awesome views!
Fantastic and historical place right here in the Bay Area. All the telescopes are fantastic and marvellous piece of ingenuity and technology. Apart from the telescopes, lots of engineering and technological things to see and appreciate, like the platform that completely raises/lowers. Due to its elevation, the observatory can get cold on most days.
