The food was descent and worth the price. If you want to experience south Indian style food especially traditional Tamil Nadu flavor it's a good option to consider. Parotta W/Chicken Curry is a must try. If you have a sweet tooth then mango lassi is a must try
*Love the food! Love the service!!*
We had ordered catered meal for 125 people for lunch from Annachi Kadai (non-veg) and Star Udipi Cafe (veg) for an event at my house. Every food item was delicious -- the flavors, the taste, the colors were all so inviting! people came back for seconds and thirds. We had food left over at the lunch because we had ordered a bit more to be on the safer side. But the food was so popular -- our guests packed the remaining food in small containers and took it home for their dinner! =)
The food was delivered sharp at 12 noon, like we requested. Actually they came 10 mins early and waited for us -- we were the ones running late. All the hot food items was piping hot and freshly made. The management worked with us to figure out the menu that would suit our guest profile and the right quantity of food to order with an aim to reduce food waste and keep costs within budget. The staff was attentive to our needs to our special instructions. They're awesome to work with, professional, polite and courteous! I would definitely recommend you order your food from Annachi Kadai and Star Udipi Cafe for your next event! Even if you have your go-to-place for catering, give them a try! =)
We tried dosa, and simply loved the sambhar. It was very flavorful, tasty and quite different from rest of the Indian restaurants.
The indoor seating was okay, very basic. A portion of it is used as a storage. The person at the counter seemed very friendly. The place was busy.
Great food. There are tons of south India places in the area but I like this place the best when it comes to sambhar. During pandemic, we picked a lot of food from here. Menu has tons of variety. The guy on the counter is very friendly, ever smiling and super polite. However they need to work on cleaning up their indoor seating as their storage shelf is right next to tables. All this looks a bit disorganized but seems they are still getting back from pandemic mode, so I didn’t take off any stars. My review is based solely on the food. There is ample of parking in front of the restaurant.
Pretty solid South Indian spot with a fair amount of indoor / outdoor seating and right off el Camino real. We came here and tried the paniyaram / chutney, idli sambar, kothu, idiyappam/coconut milk, and paratha/kurma. Delicious food, not too spicy, freshly made, and decent portions. It is a casual, self serve restaurant, so don't expect much in the way of service, but definitely come for the food!
