any one who needs a mind tune up this is the place to go, if your serious about healthy thinking, discipleship, guiding people or growing your faith please go to the school. great value for money. onluy wish I had known about this years ago.
I wish I could have such an experience, when I was a child.
If you are considering a private school, I would highly recommend Living Wisdom School (LWS). This is our second year, my daughter went to K last year and now is in the 1st grade. Our son will go to LWS Kindergarten this coming fall. We love so many things about the school - it's hard to pick just a few to mention here:
- number one, their main philosophy is Education for Life, meaning that they want their children to love learning. And this is not just some words, really!
- each child can go ahead with his/her learning. For example, many children in my daughter's 1st grade class are studying Math and English Spelling and English Phonics at the 2nd Grade level and some even at the 3rd Grade level. At the same time, the teachers are very careful, their goal is to keep the children interested in the subjects, not to jump grades.
- the teacher/student ratio in our class is 2 teachers to 16 children (2 to 12 in Kindergarten).
- the teachers are amazing. I also want to mention this (not that it super important, but it's unique enough) - there are a few male teachers who can really be role
models for the kids.
- Math Olympiads and American Mathematics Competition (AMC)
In most schools, only the most gifted students take the Math Olympiads and AMC 8. In contrast, at LWS, all students in grades 3-8 take these challenging tests. You can see the results below. Last year, my husband and I were at the graduation ceremony, where they were announcing the Competition results: it turned out that the girl who got the best score in the entire California was a LWS student (she achieved a perfect score of 100% – the only perfect score by a sixth-grader in the state of California). We were very impressed :)

- Another big topic is their Theater Magic program which every single child participates in (they do believe in including everybody). Well, this is something I can go on and on about, but let me just share this: my daughter (she was in K at the time) started crying after the last play and she could not stop. She said that she wanted the performances to last forever (and I have to admit I felt the same, it was wonderful and I did not want it to end... I guess it's a little silly to feel this way, but that's the truth..).
By the way, they welcome everybody to see the plays, so I highly (HIGHLY) recommend coming to see their plays (usually it's in March).
Most importantly, our daughter loves the school and the teachers and progressing beautifully :)
