  I am convinced that I have Almaden Pilates to thank for my new pain-free existence. After almost 2 1/2 years in the core strengthening mat class with Heynia, I know how to use posture and muscles to keep myself safe both when being active and also if taking classes with less-experienced instructors during travels. Both Heynia and Janel are excellent teachers who take the time to prepare us for movements in detail and also monitor the position of each student during the class. I feel great after a full 60 minute workout in class and do exercises on my own in between classes. I hope I can continue these classes forever! Thank you, Almaden Pilates.

  Almaden Pilates Studio is a true treasure in the Almaden Valley area of San Jose, Ca. The Pilates Professionals, Heynia and Janel, rival the best of Pilates instructors in the bay area. I have practiced Pilates for several years and I continue to learn and grow in my personal practice by participating in both Pilates matt classes and semi-privates with the reformer. My compliments to both Heynia and Janel for continuing to give personal attention when needed, keeping each week fresh and stimulating with different routines, helping each of us focus on our strengths and addressing our weeknesses and for being never ending sources of information in many related fitness areas. Best of all reminding us all to breathe has given us all a breath of fresh air and much inspiration. Thank you for being here for us in Almaden Valley.

  I love this place! Janel & Heynia are true professionals in their craft. They know & understand Pilates, they work you hard & make sure you are true to form! Working with them has changed my life. Seriously. I never fully understood the power of Pilates & the tremendous difference it would make on my body & my mind! Regardless of your situation, if you're a beginner & serious about learning Pilates OR you're an expert, these ladies will teach and challenge you. Not all Pilates studios are created equal; Almaden Pilates definitely sets the gold standard!
