From Day One I felt like family here.
HOPE
Don't have money for food The salvation Army is there to help give food to those who can't afford food I go every now & then & what they give away is pretty good. It helps me get by. The best part of all is how kind & helpful they are there open Monday through Friday from 9am to 12pm and I heard they open again but I forget at what time.
Staff members and volunteers are awesome
I've gone here since just before the pandemic until now, and I've got to say that it's a lot more convenient to pick up some food now. When the pandemic first began, they just completely shut down. Later they opened again, but it became a lot more controlled. If you walked in, you would check in at the station they placed before you entered the back gate. You then would be given your food already boxed and bagged to go. If you drove in, you would still check in at the station before the back gate, then drive through the back gate, through the path of construction cones to the loading area that was staged near the rear exit gate, open your trunk or back car door, and the volunteers would load your food into the car for you, before you exited through the rear gate. It only takes a couple of minutes and everyone ends up with an even distribution of the food. It's all safe and fair and quick! That's a win-win in my book! God bless the staff of the Salvation Army and the volunteers, and those who have to rely on their services to get by! 🙏
I have not personally need their help but I know that Salvation Army provides hot meals daily. Martha's Kitchen helps them once a week with meals they serve. They also help house those who are struggling to fight addiction and return to the community as responsible citizens.
