My child goes to EMC for a while now and enjoys it a lot (even homework!). More importantly, she is doing much-much better at Math now. In the class they work on non-standard and fun problems. The homework is challenging but can be done by the child. I actually envy these kids for having such cool teachers and learning materials.
    Really good school.

We've been attending Engaging Math Circles (EMC) for a number of years now (my kids are 7 and 9). We've seen it grow and morph from just a few classes to a wonderful program that we are lucky to have found and be a part of. There is a good reason why parents continue going year after year and recommend to their friends. I think more than 10 of my kids' classmates have joined and continue attending year after year.

Thanks to (EMC) my kids fell in love with math, and they are getting better and better at it too! I've seen a huge change in their ability to work and think independently while solving complex (age appropriate) problems. No matter how tired, they RUN to class. They are excited to be there and to be challenged. Teachers find a way to create a welcoming atmosphere with an amazing balance of learning to work independently as well as cooperating and learning as a group. Both, extremely valuable.

The class has been absolutely crucial in the development of my kids' logic and math skills. Their confidence skyrocketed and poured out beyond the classroom. They are now participating and volunteering at school at many of their STEAM events and one has been invited to be a part of the school math Olympiad team.

Logistics wise, the program is very well organized as well. Classes are small and kids get a lot of personal attention. Instructor knows everyone by name and is able to figure out their strengths and weaknesses, adjusting as she goes to better serve her students. Group placement is spot on. Most families continue the program year after year.

What I hoped to find in a math program, especially for such young kids, is a place to fall in love with math and be inspired. A place where they would be free to make mistakes, to explore, to develop. All of this, together with a strong foundation in math, logic, and reasoning is what we found at EMC.

My youngest, 5, can't wait to start!

My eight year old loves math at EMC with Anna. She has been going for just a month now, and I can see the difference in the way she is engaging with math. She is excited to try harder and harder problems, and is approaching each problem with creative approaches that I could not predict.

Anna teaches fundamentals of math, and does so much more: her goal with the kids is to train them to aim for understanding over memorization, to enjoy challenges, to persist and to try different approaches to solve difficult problems.

I am hoping to find a time for my seventh grader to join one of the older groups as well.

As others have said, it is a commute for us (coming from Palo Alto), but well worth it!!

After coming to the first trial lesson at Engaging Math Circles my son fell in love with the school, the teacher and other kids. He likes their classes and I see other students come there with happy faces. The initial free evaluation helped to identify gaps in my son's math knowledge and placed him in the appropriate group.
I like the curriculum, which prioritizes understanding of the math concepts over mechanical memorization. My son loves that he gets a lot of personal attention from the teacher and can discusses problems with him when he doesn't understand something.
Definitely staff knows how to create friendly environment in the class.
