I've never written a Google review - and I felt that the empathy and humanity with which Tom and Christian and their team had handled a very emotional, heartbreaking time needed to be recognized!
My Dad passed more suddenly than expected during Covid-19 restrictions in 2020 from an arduous long 5yr battle with 2 types of Stage 4 cancer. After being his companion and caregiver through it all, I was thoroughly exhausted emotionally and physically -- and yet I felt heard, understood and supported by the team at Beddingfield.
When I was at my worst, taking the responsibility for my elderly Mom, to arrange my Dad's final wishes for a cremation and final resting place in their niche, both Tom and Christian gave heart and meaning to what I called the "business of death." Those days still seem like a haze, but I know that I couldn't have managed such a meaningful memorial without their support.
First, it is very obvious that Tom has a depth of experience that is so helpful in managing any of the "in's and out's" of the details which will make your life easier during and after your loved one's passing.
Christian also recommended the Legacy Touch preservation of Dad's fingerprints which represent a way to still feel connected to the physical touch of my Dad which brings so much comfort.
I'm not sure quite what else to say but I am thankful to have had that support during Dad's passing, and even now as I have thought back on that time with comfort.
Support a local business with a depth of knowledge you will not get elsewhere!
(Aside: if considering cremation, please please do not consider Tulip Cremation).
Update: During one of the highest tiers of Covid-19 restrictions, the team was also mindful of appointment scheduling and physical distancing during the needed wet signature process. While other paperwork was easily done via e-signature as much as possible.
The Beddingfield Funeral Service team went above and beyond at my dad's funeral and I cannot be more grateful for the level of customer service they showed.
Although it is not part of the job, they greeted funeral guests and made everyone feel welcome while the rest of my family grieved. They could have just done their duties and quietly sat in the sidelines, but this team truly goes the extra mile.
If you are stumped on a company to handle these services for you, look no further! I mean it!
Throughout the entire process they were courteous and understanding. The process was extremely smooth, simple, and concise from signing the paperwork to the funeral and burial service. Their pricing was fair and better than most places we've quoted with. They were on time, respectful, and assisted with everything including something as simple as a reminder of what step was next for the burial service.
Tom was awesome to work with. He answered all my questions promptly. He was very quick on getting back on any emails I sent and gave good recommendations. Though unconventional, Tom let us have a few minutes with our Dad after the funeral service before taking him to be cremated. Jinno assisted with the funeral service, and Christian assisted with the Burial Service. Both have been absolutely helpful and understanding.
Christian made an otherwise awful situation bearable. He was so empathetic and helpful. Never once tried to sell us anything. Just listened and offered ideas. Trying to navigate making funeral arrangements for the first time would have been so much worse without his help. God bless you.
