  Mount Madonna Santa Clara County Park is good for group picnic, camping and hiking. It has good trails. It has benches and barbeque, restrooms and parking near all the picnic areas. A very good place for family day time outing with kids and grown ups. Frisbee and boll games can be played in small informal play fields. We were really lucky to have very good weather on our visit. Tall Redwood trees keeps ground shadowed. We found Banana slugs along trails. Ladybug with black spots amused kids. Approach roads are good. I highly recommend this park for day time family outings.

  Top 3 favorite places to hike in santa Clara and santa Cruz counties. Good camping spots. Great trails with big long loops and many off shoot trails.

  Redwood heaven in Gilroy! Great for camping, hiking or horse riding. Several miles of trails in this historic park. No bikes allowed.

  Was expecting no shade on a hot afternoon wedding at the amphitheater. Turned out to be cooler than the valley below and plenty of shade provided by a lovely gazebo for the reception. A serene, lovely spot to explore and enjoy in the Bay Area. Recommend for an alternative to the traditional wedding venues!

  This park is lovely; it's on the hilltops above the traffic. There is traffic getting there, but it's worth it: there are tons of hiking trails & things to see. The campground had nice large spots with picnic tables & fire-rings; firewood is available at stations throughout the campground. We hiked a few trails; all are well maintained & very well mapped with lots of signage to point you in the correct direction. We saw deer, wild turkeys, lots of squirrels & lots of blue jays & other birds. There is a shower house that was very nice, along with restrooms throughout the park. Full hookups for RVs, plus lots of tent camping & group sites.
