Great hike, pretty steep going up to Ridge Top Trail, slippery on the way down. Tree cover most of the hike, scenic views of Watsonville and Monterey Bay at the top.
Medium to difficult trails. Has beautiful vistas that overlook parts of Santa Cruz & Watsonville. The road to forest is filled with pot holes, so beware.
Nice park with wide paths both shady and more open. You hike through the forest for a mile or so. Then vistas with views to Monterey and Santa Cruz open up. Some trails wind through dense fern forests, others through oak.
Awesome gem hidden from the road.
Check out the views!!
Spectacular! And then you can enjoy wine tasting at the beautiful Windy Oaks Estate winery just up the road.

An interesting thing about Byrne-Milliron is that one condition of its transfer to Land Trust ownership in the 1980s was that it continue to be a working forest—which means regular logging. Byrne-Milliron is also one of the only parks in the county where dogs can legally run off-leash.

Waxing Crescent Moon. Tucked back into the folded, twisted, faulted, redwood-covered Santa Cruz Mountains near Corralitos CA stands the Byrne-Milliron Forest, 402 acres of public land managed by the Land trust of Santa Cruz County. It's not easy to find.
