  I cannot recommend Diane enough! I have gotten 6 rats from her over the past four years, and they've all been the most gorgeous and sweet-tempered, beautiful girls. Diane is so patient and kind and friendly. She let's you really meet the rats you're interested in, talks to you about her favorites, shares her knowledge. I would never imagine going anywhere else, and I'm plan on going back in a few months to round out my current mischief of two wonderful girls.

  We’ve had this little guy for about 8 months now. He came from a pet store in San Francisco that sells Furball Critters’ hamsters. He is as sweet as can be and has never bitten us (unlike hamsters I’ve gotten from chain pet stores). I truly believe this is thanks to a wonderful breeder. Highly HIGHLY recommend! P.S.- Don’t worry, he lives in a much larger enclosure than the one pictured in this review.

  I have never worked with a more professional and knowledgeable breeder. I got three bristle dumbo rats and even got to meet their mother. She was very kind and did not rush me to pick a rat like most breeders. Her place is clean and the rats have livable space unlike any pet store you'll ever visit. Most rats I have bought have been ill when I acquired them and had to be nursed back to health, but my three beautiful girls are doing great and are honestly the most healthy out of my current group. I was finally able to find a suitable mate for my male rat I've been trying to breed for some time. Her liter is as happy and healthy as she is and she had no deaths at birth. I know that for any future purchases I will go back. They may be a little bit more expensive, but if you want to support safe breeding and healthy animals go here.

  I had a great experience at Furball Critters today. It's appointment only to go visit (Diane runs the business out of her house), so I called and she said she was available all day except for one hour when she had another appointment. I showed up 15 minutes early and Diane was good-natured and happy to see my two young kids and me.
  
  The breeding business is run out of Diane's garage, which is large. You enter to see several healthy looking chinchillas in cages, followed by rats and hamsters. Diane knew it was my kids' first time with pet rats, so she had them sit and let them hold several females, then males. When they found one they clicked with, she put it in a separate cage to keep as a "maybe." She was very patient and kind with my kids and loving toward the animals. The kids tried holding many, ...many..., different rats and eventually settled on two boys.
  
  Diane sold us a large cage and the necessities and said she takes credit card or cash. I was very surprised at how reasonable her prices were. I was expecting to pay double. For a large cage, water bottle, food dish, wheel, 5.5 lbs food, large sack of bedding, two healthy rats, it cost me just over $120. I gave her a tip because I was so happy with the experience.
  
  I've been really happy with how well behaved the two rats are. They haven't bitten either kid and they just seem happy, if a little scared to be in their new home. I feel like they were well treated from birth and I will absolutely go back to Furball Critters for all my rodent needs (I really want a squirrel, but alas... nobody seems to sell squirrels). One other thing: Diane gave me recommendations for where to buy food, what brands are good, what pet shops are good. I didn't feel like she was trying to gouge me at all.

  We just got them yesterday but these sweet little boys were worth the trip. We thought we wanted girl rats when we arrived but Diane really took time with us and let us hold a bunch til we found our perfect little pets. Thanks Diane! These guys will get a lot of love!
