“Best selection of trees of any place I've found in 20 years. Many varieties including blue spruce, my favorite. They have BIG trees if that is what you are looking for. One tree we looked at was over 20 feet tall. Open Christmas Eve when many other places where closed. They saved Christmas for my boys!”

“This is a wonderful preschool with terrific teachers! Each time I visit the students are engaged is one project or another, smiling and the teachers are right there beside their young charges. The environment is just right: bright, clean, lively, but organized for learning through play.”

“What a great campsite, ONLY WITH GOOD WEATHER, otherwise we were there during the rain and it was alright but just very went since you're in the redwoods. No one was at the place at all we say 1 car drive by in 24 hours, no hot showers, clean bathrooms and nice campground! Recommend with warmer/sunnier weather.”

“This was an interest spot. We only stayed here because Big Basin was all filled up. And I'm not sure we'd stay here again, but overall this was a fine place to go. The problem is that you have to drive over to Big Basin and pay the day use fee. The campground itself is laid out kind of wonky. More signage would be very helpful. Unfortunately, our campsite was a mudpit. It would have been nice if the camp maintenence folks could have brought in sand or pine boughs or something to make it less muddy. Also, though they said no alcohol was allowed in the campground, the young adults in the group camp area were partying it up - beer bottles plainly evident. Also, the one-way, semi-private road leading to the campground was reminiscent of the movie Deliverance. o_O Despite all that, we did manager to enjoin ourselves. There's actually a lot to do for kids. Since this area was formerly owned by HP and used as a company retreat, there's a Frisbee golf course, tennis courts, basketball courts, kids play area, and more. We did a nice 2 mile hiking loop through the second-growth redwood trees and we got to see tons of banana slugs and salamanders. And the trail connected to all the Big Basin trails so you could go much farther. Your experience may vary, but in a pinch, this was a good camp site. However, book early and stay at Big Basin if you can.”

“Charlynn is the most amazingly mystical being I have ever met. Since the first moment I met her, she has given me words of encouragement. I have been to three sweat lodges here and each time has been a heart-changing experience. Char has shown me how to be truly open and vulnerable to Spirit. She is a true healer.”

“There's no place like Camp Hammer. The summer camp is the highlight of my kids' year every year. The facilities are well taken care of and the food is great ????. I can't say enough great things about Camp Hammer.”
