White Ranch is good for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and even backpacking and has several trails of varying length and difficulty. There are two campsites and the Sawmill Hiker's Campground is a mere mile or so hike from the main parking lot. The park provides non-potable water, firewood and fire rings on around 10 reservable sites at each campsite. The best part is you can get our permit at the Golden Ranger's office...for free! We went this past weekend and had a blast! This is by far the best option for you or your children's first backpacking experience! Highly recommended!

We enjoyed a wonderful lecture on how to interface with cattle. The lecture ended with a hike through the pasture. Fun informative day.

It was cool. We went there as a sixth grade field trip and it was pretty fun. Hopefully I can go there again someday.

Three trails. One is dog friendly. Bring mosquito repellent! I got eaten alive. Cattle open grazing as you walk around.

A very cool spot. We did the marsh walk which had an amazing amount of blackberries. Our timing was off to see a lot of birds probably about a dozen species. Afterwards we say in the eucalyptus Grove and enjoyed the shade and the birdsong. I would absolutely come here again.
