  The WORKERS ARE SOOOOO NICE they give you free food and we had a birthday and we all got ice cream! The food is really good and your full before your dishes co.e out since you get soup, salad, and bread. Has a nice history and is a great place to eat, definitely coming back. (Not good for lactose intolerant people.)

  What a wonderful restaurant to share w family and friend. Frank and Barbara are amazing hosts and wow can they prepare amazing food!!! Don’t be surprised if their darling daughter doesn’t sit at the piano and serenade you as you enjoy a fabulous meal.
  Union Hotel is a must if you are anywhere near Occidental.

  Excellent authentic Italian food. Highly recommended. They even gave us free bruschetta and it was the best I've ever had. I had the Prawn Pasta in cream sauce which was quite good. There were about six large prawns. My friend had the rib eye steak which was so large he had to get a to go container. The meal was served with an antipasto tray, and house salads. The freshly baked bread was unlimited and awesome. For dessert I had the Tiramisu which came in a large, elegant bowl. It was wonderful but there was so much of it that I had to take the majority of it home.
  
  We chose to eat outside and were the only patrons doing so at 3:00 in the afternoon. The atmosphere was quaint and quiet. Very enjoyable. I was enchanted by the rich familial history of this hotel and restaurant.
  
  P.S. - The waiter, Peter, was charming, attentive and absolutely terrific. He is to be recognized and commended.

  We had a lovely meal - but more importantly we were treated like family! Love it here. The relaxed friendly atmosphere and history. The Union Hotel in a treasure buried in the woods of the Bohemian Highway. We’ll be back!

  We moved to the area a month ago and have already eaten here many times. The pastries at the coffee shop are great too. Haven't had a chance to get a drink at the saloon yet but I'm sure we will. This place is old fashioned in all the best ways, totally charming and unique.
