Living history just to see it
Really nice little historic site. Very interesting for an hour's romping around and well worth the cost. Went for their Fandango event, there were performers in costume and all that. Quite nice.
This is the old home of one of California's first missions. They have a great free museum, a really nice creek area and a large picnic area that is cool and tree covered. A really nice place to stop on the up to Sonoma county and wine tasting in Sonoma. It is just a few miles off the beaten path and worth the stop over. Did i mention you may have to pay for parking? The museum area is free and accept donations. Handicap accessible and pet friendly, check out this piece of history.
Wonderful little quiet place with lots to explore and pretty vistas from 2nd floor. Nice old tree grove with picnic tables. An old fashion wooden bridge over creek.
Great piece of local history. Go for an event and experience what it was like in the 1850's. We visited on Adobe Day. Many docents were in character and our grandkids learned to lasso a (steel) calf, brand a piece of leather, watch a blacksmith and see how to cook in an old adobe oven. The live music and dancing of the day was quite fun! Will be returning to further explore the wonderful exhibits in the museum.
