Great place to walk the dogs are n the fall when the ticks have let up.
The laguna seems to attract lots of birds, including accidental migrants as well as local "usual suspects". If you're not a birder, the trails are great for walking and/or jogging. But there's not much shade. At some times of the year, the grass can get high along some of the trails, so be careful to do a "tick check" upon exit. A treasure close to the urban centers.
Great nature trails with lots of options, depending on how far you want to walk with easy difficulty. Trails take you around some lakes and marsh lands. Keep your eyes out for frogs, birds, and other wildlife.

Santa Rosa resident Jim Tompkins, who volunteers cleaning up the Laguna, reveled in the scene as he trekked along the dirt path that winds along the waterway. "Look at everything that's being done to revive this," Tompkins said. "I care so much for the Laguna, so hopefully this keeps coming back."

The Laguna de Santa Rosa is a freshwater wetlands complex and wildlife corridor in Sonoma County consisting of 30,000+ acres. A public trail runs through a small portion of the laguna near Sebastopol that provides great birding opportunities year-round, making it one of our favorite spots in the county.
