...continued by Erek-Jon Blaschke (Google cut me off)

Tim’s story of medicine vs science added to the fact that we need to build a relationship with God, get to know him and “praise” vs “thank” him.
There is a difference, and the co-worker analogy really helped clear the variance between the two terms (I currently live in a chicken coupe, I should be thankful, it’s not out on the streets).

Tim also spoke of his fowl mouth prior to becoming a pastor, very relatable in my situation to my anxiety and aggressive driving. Perhaps it’s time to check it in!

I was literally crying the entire time he spoke, it all hit home. It totally makes sense, I can see the light. (The light in which we speak of so much in the Catholic Church).

    I thought...
I may have it bad, but this ain’t nothin. I have my health and hopefully my sanity too????????. Likewise, my family is safe and in good care. Thanks God

My tears came from a release! All the built up anger, frustration and pain... all up and left my soul. It was like I found a new friend, now it’s time to get to know him. Then maybe I can understand how to praise him.

I dont have it as bad as Tim, when he was facing near death on multiple occasion. But we all hit rock bottom at some point in life. A time where we don’t know where to turn, how to fix it... but the fighter within won’t allow me to quit. It never has. But overcoming the other, small, outside factors is a good start.

Today I think Tim just took a HEAVY LOAD off my shoulders as I fight an uphill battle to win back what I’ve lost.

I wish I got to thank Tim and shake his hand today. But perhaps, it’s best that he meets us as a family someday. I hope he prepares for that day they return to me, cause I’d love to share a meaningful moment of praising God with my family.

I hope I can come back in the future and thank Tim for this knowledge that I didn’t have prior to 10am this morning. I will pursue it til the day I see my kids again.

I wanna be a proud dad again, too! Thanks goes out to the entire parish of Redemption Hill. -Erek

I wouldn’t normally do this, but I’m 5 mins from leaving the celebration and I had to pull over to write this yelp review as I sit in my car aside the white lines. It’s that important to me, to do this here and now.

I tried to wait to speak with this gentleman, but today he was super popular.

Tim really knocked it out of the park!!!

BTW, take a good look around when you enter. I didn’t realize that the mission of this Church is to make first time attendees, cry.
It was once I left to attend the restroom to fix myself, that I realized, tissue boxes are located under many of the seats in the rows of chairs.

Redemption Hill Church provides a lot of singing, cheer & joy... they even have a band, made up of parishioners who do a wonderful job. They really get into, playing music as it is a symbol of their praise for the Lord... just watch the emotions of the drummer. Oh, it’s real! People clap after every song.

I grew up Roman Catholic, I have the rosary tattooed (inked while in USN in time of war) around my neck to show my love, respect (and what I thought was) understanding for God.

    I really thought I was meant to be a Catholic...until today‼️

Then again, my original yelp search for this mornings mass was “Catholic Church in Santa Rosa”. Instead I was led here.
It’s a bit different than what I’m use to, but I figured, “I’ll sit through it”.

And, praise the lord, that I didn’t leave when he children were dismissed...(maybe it was time for ccd..????????‍♂️). Perhaps I didn’t feel like I belong, I was really close to leaving.

The typical mundane, dry mass is what I am use to receiving on Sunday mornings... even in a less typical Catholic Mass (like @ White Oak) which has a enlightened mood/some added character, I tend to walk away, satisfied... but not complete.

Sitting through the second half of this mass left me feeling, “woah, I’ve never felt, so taken away, perhaps relieved, or better yet FOUND”.

It was almost an out of body experience, as if I were to fit myself in every situation that Tim spoke of. I was sitting in the rear, crying like a baby as he brought up one struggle after another in his fight to health.

In one senecio that he spoke of, Tim mentioned a time of being proud of his kids and they turned back asking, “why are you proud of me”. (My wife and kids left about 3 months ago for a cheaper Florida). He said, it’s not possible for one to be proud of someone else, if you don’t know that person. This opened my mind as to what he was going to say next.

Tim brought up bad situations that he had faced, not once or twice... but a illness that kept reoccurring. (I’ve folded my business that was thriving... perhaps killing a tiny piece of me).

Amazingly enough, it wasn’t Tim asking for Gods healing nor asking for additional time, that helped him heal... nor was it by asking “why me”.

    continued...
