“Christmas Cheer is a holiday nonprofit. Begun in 1957, it collects and donates food and gifts for needy Petaluma residents. The organization is funded by donations and staffed by volunteers. The location generally changes yearly: they rely on donated space. In 2018, they're open 10-6 Monday-Saturday in the former Exchange Bank location in Leghorn Plaza. They do not have a website, but do have a Facebook presence. They do a great deal of good in a quiet, important way.”

“Heater died yesterday, a Sunday. I called John today partially because he's also in Petaluma and he got to me on the same day and diagnosed the problem with our thermostat. He was fine with me replacing that on my own, and he pointed out the important concerns which will lead to us replacing the heater as soon as we get the $ together. He went beyond what was needed when I asked, checking out the ducting under the house, and giving me a quote for a new furnace that shows he's working with my budget. I trust him. He's clearly well-qualified and competent in his work, plus he seems to be a people-person as well, meaning he listens to what I need. I never felt pushed into a sales conversation. His concern was for our safety and to educate us about the possibilities. This is an important requirement for anyone I do business with. “They have an inability to hear when speaking to them. They keep talking and don't stop. I was transferred to a "manager", who strangely was cut off. I dialed again and couldn't get through to anyone who knew anything. They appear to be crooked "debt collectors". They are trying to collect money from me for Verizon. I have 3 consecutive statements from Verizon, showing that Verizon owed me the money. I also have a photocopy of the check and the check stub that Verizon sent to me. I asked them to send to me a valid bill from Verizon that show that I owe the amount being claimed. The idiots didn't seem to understand. Either Chase Receivables is crooked - OR - Verizon is crooked!! ”
