A group of us went backpacking in the middle of Nov. here. The first night in the valley was "a little bit" cold (down to 32 degrees F) and we woke up finding frost on tents and backpacks. The mountain landscapes are very much different than Northern mountains but they are absolutely breathtaking. The highlight was Willett Hot Springs, which I highly recommend. We also saw some shell fossils.
