  Best ride I've ever been on to date!!! I'm a few days late for my review as I was on a busy vacation. Riding with Melissa was on my 3rd day out in California. She was so kind, helpful, patient, understanding, and trusting. She knew the right horse for me as well! I got to ride Willing Spirit, my new favorite horse! Same age as me too, but he caries his age better than me lol. We took a 2 hour ride, I would have opted for the 3 hour but it was very hot and the trails were still in recovery mode from the fires they had around there. $165 for a 2 hour ride where you aren't nose to tail!!! That is the best deal, and ride you can ever ask for, especially out in California. Melissa's company was very relaxing, and reassuring. She was very informative about the locations, plant life, and history of where we were riding. Before the ride she made sure my stirrups were positioned right, and that I was thoroughly comfortable. She also gave me permission to use my horsemanship skills to make sure the horse was doing what I needed him to do. She told me all about Willing Spirit (I was calling him Spirit) and his personality. We matched up perfectly!!! He tested me at least twice to make sure I was paying attention and boy did he figure out that I was lol. He was such a good boy, and a joy to ride! I really wanted to take him home with me haha! Good luck finding a better person, and horse to ride with out in California. Melissa and her establishment is probably the best in Southern California you could possibly find. I highly recommend riding with her, and I will definitely make another reservation with her in the future. I cannot wait to go back and hopefully next time do the 3 hour ride with her and Spirit! Thank you so much Melissa for the amazing, beautiful, and most awesome ride I could have out there. Until we meet again girl! Cheers!

  Seriously one of the best sessions I have ever had! Michelle’s knowledge and kindess is something to definitely write about so I am! I got to ride and get to know Levi, my horse and what a horse he truly is. The establishment takes you away from town and puts you straight in the country! I am definitely using this again!!!! Highly recommend Western Trail Rides for all lessons beginners or not! Always something new to learn! Adults and kids, I highly recommend!

  Melissa & her "boys" are wonderful. She is so welcoming & thoughtful the whole time. She is a blessing - piece of Heaven on earth. Had an amazing time riding Willful Spirit ... taking in the beauty that is the Ojai valley.
