  Rowan Lommel’s instruction in pranayama created a turning point in my life. Her clearly written and customized routines of breathing and focusing helped me face and change mental patterns of worry and anxiety. Before, I had indulged those patterns to avoid feeling bored and unproductive. Her teaching gave me a new inner discipline to approach my daily life tranquilly and attentively.
  
  As an instructor, Rowan was always calmly attentive and warm. Since she was aware of my background as a traditional Catholic, she probed to make sure that any questions were answered about the possible religious implications of yoga. Also, she was genuinely interested in understanding my worldview. We had 3 or 4 in-depth conversations about yoga, where I threw every objection at her that I had, and her answers were always clear and well-reasoned. The result was that I strongly trusted her guidance.

She began studying yoga and immersing herself in the teachings of Krishnamurti even before adulthood and she travels to India on a regular basis to study under the Desikachar tradition in order to deepen her own teaching skill.   Rowan is a great yoga instructor. I have taken many classes with her over the years and consistently when I was pregnant with my second child. Her instruction helped get me through a difficult pregnancy and made for a much easier birth than I had expected. She is also a wonderful person to be around and I truly value the time we have spent together.

  At the age of 70 I began my journey into a yoga practice!
  I chose Rowan, to be my teacher.
  Having known Rowan since she was 3, my trust and respect for her is huge.
  Also, her credentials are impeccable.
  Having carried various traumas since WW2 and a curvature of the spine, I had not laid on my back for decades.
  We began our practice with Rowan observing/exploring my abilities and limitations.
  The guidance and sensitivity to every aspect of my physical and emotional unfolding, the exploration into awakening of the whole me, has been an ongoing celebration!
  This journey, thus far is gifting me with amazing revelations of a language, a kind of sound that feels deeply authentic and, in a way, like a connection to the most authentic/higher self!
  It just proves the point: It isn't over 'til it's over and... every age, is a new age.

  Rowan transformed my postpartum physical and spiritual experience. Her yoga classes gave me a safe place to relearn the capabilities of my body while reconnecting with my mind and spirit. Her peaceful loving manner and talent for conveying the beautiful intricacies of yoga in a simple yet profound manner, made my weekly yoga practice a welcome haven of tranquility. Thank you Rowan!
