Start at the trailhead (park at windmill park) and head to the right (Southwest) through crippled oaks that meander on this cool trail. The old oaks give way to open space that rises gently through fields of tall grasses until you meet up with the sunrise trail. The last part is quite steep. Hook up with the main Long Canyon Trail and walk back down to the park for a good 4 mile loop.
