(May 19, 2019, 6:28 pm)I just completed the Basic Sailing class and it was so much fun!! I had zero sailing experience when I started and I learned so much in 16 hours of class. The instructors are very passionate about sailing, skilled and patient with beginners. The boats are nice and Marina Park is a terrific place to hold the classes. My class consisted of four 4 hr classes on Saturdays and the time flew by. The classes start with a short lecture and learning how to tie various knots (we used these on the boat) and then we were on the water in every class! The fee was extremely reasonable at $137 for 16 hours (Ventura County residents pay $125). Great fun and met some wonderful people. If you are even remotely thinking about trying sailing, check this place out. It's a great find! A side note - they also offer beginning paddle boarding and kayaking here.
