“This campround is one of a kind, at 7000 ft this was one hell a hike. I I started my one-night backpacking trip at the Chorro grande trailhead down off the 33, I ascended through typical chaparrel that turns into switchbacks up the steep mountain. It eventually turns to a conifirous forest and ends on the paved Reyes peak campround. The campground has amazing views that span the Ventura coast and back towards the Cuyama Badlands.”

“Just hiked this trail on Saturday and it was great. The first mile is a steady climb but the second has very little elevation change. Great scenery and views despite there still being some evidence of the 2017 Thomas fire. The vegetation is coming back nicely though.”
