“I don"t understand why some people are allowed to post a review when they never have attended a single service. That would be like me reviewing a restaurant when I never have eaten there. critiquing but never have participated as a good Catholic should. The people are humble and sincere. They shouldn't be judging anyone anyway. I felt the Spirit throughout the Mass. The early church wasn't Roman either. Neither were the apostles so then their ministry was wrong too? I don"t think so. The sacraments ere accepted in all of Mexico. They are Ministering to Catholics who otherwise would be taken by other churches. I was not pressured into leaving the Roman church at all.”

“What a wonderful experience. More people should know about it.This church is so important to Los Angeles and Wilmington history. It was built in 1883 and is one of the oldest continuous services in the harbor area. The Banning family founded the St. John's Episcopal church in 1882. It was originally built on Canal Street and Avalon. In 1943 the church was moved to its location 1537 Neptune Avenue in Wilmington. There are several beautiful antique stained-glass windows in the church, one in memory of General Phineas Banning. The bell in the cupola is from the SS Cricket. The altarpiece is a fine specimen of Catalina marble. The church is a Historical Cultural Monument # 47. The church is a modest, stave-type church of Colonial architecture.”
