“I was here for a community event, which, and this is a great thing, overlapped with at least two other community events. First, getting to the museum is incredibly easy. There's a BART station a block away, and a large, multi-level parking garage within. For a Friday night event, I paid $7 cash to park from 5:30 - 8:30pm. That is amazingly affordable. Once I arrived and parked, I walked toward my main event in a large auditorium. However, on the way, there was an Off the Grid food truck smorgasbord, a small community-based craft and gift sales, and live music. Since I was early, I got to enjoy those fun things of which I was completely unaware. The auditorium's event space was very nice. Quality sound system, comfortable seating, and good lighting. The event went smoothly with prompt support from museum staff as needed. After the event ended, the security staff let us know 10 minutes were left before the museum closed for the night -- I wandered by a couple families going into a rain forest exhibit right at the announcement, and I checked it out briefly. What a great place for kids and community! Would definitely go back for more events, especially if they have music and food trucks.”

“We visited the Yanks Air Museum during the Haunted Halloween Hunt. We had a BLAST!! My boys, 7yo and 9yo, loved the alien theme and had so much fun doing the scavenger hunt. Not to mention, the planes are so well kept. The staff was amazing! Everyone was helpful! There must've been another event going on, because we saw a lot of Veterans while we were there. Also very cool for the kids to meet Vets and enjoy the museum with them!”

“Nice place. Understand salmon swim here. What would have been a sight if I happen to be there when the salmon are around.... not sure if it will also attract the bears!”

“Sailing with Captain Doug was the most fun I've had all summer. We did a loop around Angel Island and had a really great time in the bay. His expertise, professionalism, and skill translated into a seamless and super fun ride. I've been sailing before and he's a great Captain with safety in mind. I honestly could not have had a more fun than with friends on his ketch. Super fun, I can't wait to do it again.”

“Hot Hot HOT! If you're shooting out here during the summer be prepared for the HEAT! The location is an extremely cool (pun intended) place to film. I've shot here a number of times and each time I'm in awe of this place in the middle of no where. Plenty of parking near and far from set depending on what kind of shot you need. Definitely be aware of snakes and scorpions and other creepy crawlers!”

“See volunteers working hard on Tuesdays. Tours available a couple of days a week. Next to the ROV is one of the giant Whirly Cranes used during WWII at the Kaiser Shipyard to construct Liberty & Victory ships. There is a nesting pair of ospreys that build a nest to raise a new brood each spring until they are fledged in late Summer. You often can see the parents feeding fresh caught fish to their chicks. You can not get closer elsewhere to observe ospreys along the shoreline.”

“Beautifully preserved site -although it is very much out of the way. You can easily lose a half a day just exploring life in the 1800s. The kids had a lot of fund running around and because of its location it was very peaceful and quiet.”
