“Great first experience trying a variety of items at Las Palmas! My wife and I found ourselves in need of some Mexican takeout enroute to visit our friends and see their new baby. If the new first time mom is craving Mexican food, you get her Mexican food. Being completely unfamiliar with Duarte we did a quick Google search and decided to give Las Palmas a try. It was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday so we had the place all to ourselves. As we sat at a table looking over the menu we were surprised to receive so much attention and so many free samples from the owner. The house made tortilla chips and salsa we terrific. They were light and super crunchy without a hint of greasyness. We were also treated to free samples of horchata and rice pudding. The horchata was so good that we decided to buy two. It was the best horchata that I have had in a long time. We decided to get one of each kind of taco, carne asada fries, and ribeye empanadas to share. Everything was very good. The quality of the beef stood out to me. It was flavorful, tender and moist, way better than the quality at the place around the corner in our neighborhood. My wife said that she really enjoyed the seafood tacos. My wow factor was the empanada. So amazing! I can only call the flavor mysterious. So savory but with a hint of sweetness that just felt right some how. The owner was very chatty. He told us all about how he had bought the restaurant eighteen months ago and was working on upgrading the quality of the entire menu. We hope that our friends are still craving Mexican food the next time we are in town for a visit. So, do yourself a favor and give this place a try soon.”

“They serve Korean Chinese cuisine. Dishes are at a decent price. It is a hidden gem in a busy square. Update 1/14/23: I went back craving for their Liangzhangpi. This time, I also ordered a seafood pancake. The first pancake came out and looked okay, but I had a slice with NO seafood in there, just full of onions and some carrot and zucchini slices. I spoke to the waitress and showed her the 2 ajacent slices with no seafood inside as well. She then used her chopsticks to check another slice and commented that there was a tiny bit of seafood. That is the problem!! 4 out of 8 slices only have tiny bit seafood in One slice!! She was kind enough to take it back to the kitchen. A few minutes later, a new darker seafood pancake was served. Waitress said the cook measured the seafood to a specific weight for each pancake, so there was no problem with the seafood pancake. For ~$20 seafood pancake, this is not worthy. Get seafood pancake somewhere else.”

“For those who had never been to Slice of India, please read on; for those of you who had been to the restaurant, I think you can resonate on my experience. The first time me and my family dined in at Slice of India, frankly we were a little intimidated by the lady who tend to our table. She was stern and did not smile during our conversation, and we thought she was mad or in a bad mood. When the food arrive, we were surprised by how good everything tasted. The portions are big and we tried our best to finish as much as we can (since food was SO GOOD) but we had to take some home. We return again and again shortly after and we get more acquainted with the lady who serve us every time we visited. She is a very nice and kind person with a strong personality. She always provided prompt service and provided great recommendations as well. Interior of this place clean and well organized, and it was decorated similarly to a typical Indian restaurants. From our past experience, only suggestion I have is it’d be great if the wait time for food can be shortened. However, I know that all orders are made fresh and that’s probably why it took some time for each order to be prepared. Overall, great food, clean interior, combined with prompt service, I’d recommend anyone to give Slice of India a try.”

“The food here is amazing! I've tried the beef stew and highly recommend it..the beef really melts in your mouth and falls apart...its heavenly. The grilled salmon with fried rice in garlic butter sauce is wonderful...salmon is good, and the rice is amazing. My husband tried the filet mignon is very tender and comes with a really savory butter herb topping and nice sides. All in all the portions are very generous and the food well presented and DELICIOUS. Everyone in our group was very impressed and very full upon leaving! The staff is polite and the ambiance is beautiful and clean. This place is new and the owners take feedback to improve very well. I think that the restaurant has been pretty popular and seen some rush hours where they were a bit understaffed which is why some other reviewers were dissatisfied...but I'm guessing first month growing pains that management will address. Even more than the restaurant itself...the staff and management is very solid and attentative and I imagine it will only get better from here. Highly recommend! On another note, the sandwich takeaway area just opened this week and the bread they bake is one of the best I've had. I got to talk to some of the staff and they mentioned that they try to use as many natural products and forgo harmful chemicals in their bread making process. The bread has a slightly different texture than other bakeries in the area, but tastes WAAAY better in my opinion. It more authentic French baguette style than the spongier Vietnamese style bread. I also found that if the sandwich takeaway area is closed, you can still go into the restaurant side to order things that are already made, from the sandwich side. Edit: We came back again and ordered the beef stew (again) and the halibut...omg if you like butter this is halibut is to die for...I gotta know how they make it taste like that! My husband ordered it and I ate more than half his plate haha. The beef stew was delicious and slightly different than the first time I ordered it...it was definitely better this time around. It's great to know they're constantly improving their dishes.”

This Five Guys location was right across the street from my hotel, which was just a 2 minute walk away. Pictured is a little cheese burger “all the way”. Not pictured was a small fry and drink. Food quality and taste was consistent with other five guys I’ve eaten at, which is above average for the price and convenience. The Coke Freestyle machine was out of a few flavors when I was here, but didn’t affect me getting a Coke Zero and it looked like a ticket had been made for repair. If I travel to Lodi again and need a quick bite, I’ll be sure to stop in again.”

The only complaint I have is the lighting in this restaurant is kind of dark. To order, it's 3-step to get your bowl of rice noodle goodness: 1. Choose your soup base 2. Choose your entree 3. Choose your carbs, but really just get rice noodles! 👌 4. -- Side note: please get some add-ons as the dish doesn't come with many things. -- Food we ordered: - Tomato soup (8/10): For those who can't eat spice, this is Really REALLY GOOD! It's not too salty, the rice noodle textures were mildly chewy and tasty. I added fatty beef and some vegetables. Overall, the portion given is plenty. - Chili Pumpkin (10/10): A little spice, but this is probably my favorite hands down! The spice has a mild sweet-sour flavor to it. I really enjoyed this. - Shou Zhua Bing (6.5/10): This is basically roti canai with meat. I actually liked the dish. I gave it a low rating because I felt like the meat was cold but I thoroughly enjoyed the roti canai! Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants to try a ramen alternative. ✨🤤”
