You can definitely feel the freshness in all the ingredients, especially the veggies. The dishes are put together without overpowering sauce or garnish. I would say they're even on the blander side, very down-to-earth presentation but again, each plate is filled with heartiness. We had a great time at dinner. Although the kitchen and staff felt a bit "new" as they were getting to know one another and work together, they pulled off a great meal. Our favorite was the crispy rice (this is a must-have) and the scallops. Both had their unique twist to the expected norms in a fabulous way. Really curious how Bear starts to shape up as the resort starts to get utilized more. Would love to see this place "mature" in a delicious way. My message to the chef: "Be confident! You're awesome." Reduced 1 star due to the high price compared to overall value.”

I have been stopping by this dessert shop for years now hoping to sample the delicious crepe cones I've seen on social media but I used to keep forgetting they don't open until 1! The other day I finally realized I was in the area after 1 and went to try it out. What a freaking great idea by the way. The cone is a crepe, cooked expertly. Then they add a generous amount of 🍮 custard, the kind that goes in a creme brule. To complete their signature dish, the torch the sugar layer for a crackling top. I really should have immediately gone back for a second one. So good. I would have tried the fresh strawberry add-on. They have more to offer and everything looks great. Dessert lovers should definitely go check it out.”

We found a total of 6 food trucks in that location during our visit leading us to dub this spot the “Restaurant Row of Food Trucks in San Marcos.” Their menu emphasizes “birria” dishes and offers a surprising number of items (including ramen and pizza options). In all honesty the burrito we sampled was of better quality than what most restaurants have to offer. Not surprisingly it was very fresh, but it was also quite flavorful. Although many of their orders are to go, there are a few folding tables and chairs available if you’d prefer to eat there.
