“We stopped by for a quick bite since we saw it was opened. Here’s their takoyaki, popcorn chicken (spicy), and jalapeño fries. Popcorn chicken was nicely seasoned and not burn your tongue spicy, takoyaki was cooked through and had its signature creaminess, and the fries were a bit salty but you can fix that with a drink. The wait was not long or short and service was great. I will have to come back for drinks soon.”

“This is the best burger place I have ever tasted that is a small mom and pop business. It’s close to work and every time you go everything is made fresh. I have tried the jalapeño burger, the burritos, and the fish sandwich combos. The french fries are the golden crinkle fries with seasoning that creates the perfect taste. The burritos are deep fried, beans and red sauce. The fish sandwich was one of the best I have ever had. Enter than chain stores. They have the usual Pepsi drinks and I see there is multiple options for ice cream and shakes on the menu. I haven’t had any of the ice cream yet there but that will be my next try. This place was recommended by my coworkers and I’m glad it lives up to the hype!”

“So here is the thing about Joy Wok, you either love them - or you love them! They have been around since the early 90's when they were located behind "El Farallon" in Lynwood - next to a liquor in that huge shopping center (that's now a school) on MLK Jr. Blvd. Then they moved to a random place in South Gate. Then they moved again to where they are located currently! As a lifelong fan I must say this is the best chinese food spot there is and you will find. Their food is best when fresh but even when it isn't it's just so tasty. The original cooks from way back when it seems are not here anymore but it seems it may have been a family business and recipes because the food still tastes the same. Other chinese food spots have cold chinese food, bad after taste, dry sometimes, you can tell it's old - not JOY WOK! Trust me. Try them and you will not be dissappointed. I recommend a combo with two sides: Half Chow Mein, Half Fried Rice - black pepper chicken and orange chicken. Oh and if your feeling fat like me!? Add a Mongolian Beef (it takes about 10 more minutes for this order but it's worth it cause they make it fresh!) They close Sundays but try them out any other day of the week. Trust me. This is not your mediocre mom's and pops chinese food spot. It's delicious oh and you can also order their food for parties!”

“Went here for a date night with my husband. The hostess and waiter were nice. The margarita was really good. We got the esquite as an appetizer and it tasted good but there were many pieces of the cob mixed in with the corn that we had to spit out. My husband said his tacos were good but he wished they came out hot. My cheese enchiladas were good and I could tell the black beans were made fresh and not from a can. The tempura cauliflower taco tasted good, the salsa on top was really good, I also wish it was a bit hotter though. I appreciated the vegetarian selections!”

Everything I ordered was good and fresh. Don't expect big servings like the other place west of the 15. But authentic sushi isn't big portions, just enough. My opinion is that I'd rather have small good quality sushi than bigger portions that aren't good. But any who, we ordered a variety of sushi items, all in the pics, and all were good. On another note, the greeter was very nice and so the rest of the staff, the sushi chefs are fun. Our server was Jojo, super sweet and courteous. I do also recommend to make reservations, I believe they rake walk ins, but just incase. Do yourself a favor and try it out. I'm sure you'll enjoy it like we have.”

“This place always caught our eyes when we drive by, so we decided to gave it a try. The interior design here is very cool, I love the ocean theme with a lot of fish installations on the wall. We sat on the bar, bartender is very friendly. We ordered a wild caught halibut with baked potato and coleslaw on the side. And also a Cobb salad with crab meat. We loved the salad but the fish is just okay. We didn’t feel full after finished all the food, we ordered a dessert, key lime pie, which I feel it’s the best dish in the whole meal.”
