The first thing that stood out to me about this location would have to be the restaurants exceptionally clean dinning area during these times this is one of the most important and often overlooked concerns. This location was so clean it was practically shinning. I can feel safe coming here knowing the staff has anexceptional standard of cleanliness. On top of Great food and a very clean environment the staff was attentive ordering process was quick and they even told me about their taco Thursday deals. “I've been coming to this restaurant for years. When I first moved to Oakland, I got a job in the Fruitvale Plaza and during my breaks, I would come here for lunch. The food and service is top notch. I love the authenticity and vibes to this place. They recently renovated the place and it looks a little plain, but I was told that this is just the beginning and that they will have new artwork soon. “I pre-ordered my food for Saturday pick up last week and was surprised to see the line of people waiting for pick up. However, we were nicely surprised by how quickly and orderly the line moved. My favorite was the BBQ giant squid and BBQ corn that were cooked on the spot. The aroma alone from the BBQ line made me very hungry so by the time I got my food and got to my car, I couldn’t help but start eating the squid with my daughter. It was completely worth the line waiting! The squid was so juicy and flavorful! The corn was so sweet and had a spicy sauce on it that made it taste like something I have not tried before. Also while you wait in line, the workers offer you food to try. I think it was a great experience. Definitely will be back for more.”

“I had called in advance and told them it was a special celebration dinner for 2. The manager was very helpful over the phone and said they would make the night special. Once we arrived the manager welcomed us in and immediately escorted us to our table. The mood setting and location where we were sat down was so romantic. When we got to our table, the restaurant had gone above and beyond and made a special menu for the birthday celebration. The menu had my wife's name and her birthday on top of menu. I thought what a way to make someone feel really special than having a menu just for them. I had the USDA prime rib eye which was out of the world. Perfectly cooked, medium rarer to perfection. My wife had the center cut which was amazing as well. For sides we ordered lobster Mac and cheese and asparagus. Before food was brought out, we were given a onion loaf of bread that was light and fluffy. Furthermore, if you happen to arrive earlier or with no reservations. The restaurant has a adorable garden area to take nice photos. We had a great experience celebrating a special occasion. Will give them thumbs up.”

“My husband and I married and held our reception here back in 2014. We had looked at 7 venue locations prior to seeing this one. The moment I saw this I was stunned. It’s was so beautiful and perfect. From the Bay lawn to the huge formal Spanish dinning room. My favorite was the massive Spanish ceiling and tile fire place. It’s a hidden gem. Not only was it the best location but the least expensive since it was on the base. The weather was perfect on our wedding day and ceremony was outside on the lawn facing the beautiful bay. The pre- reception was on outdoor the patio. And the reception was held inside. Everything went great. The only down side was the service. They ran out of food. This explains the four stars instead of five. Normally, 10-20 % of guests that RSVP do not show up. However, I stayed on top of my guests count just a few days before the wedding. So all but 1 guest showed. Not something venues expect. So with that said, they didn’t order enough food. Some portions were much smaller then others on the plates. But regardless everyone had a great time and the venue was stunning. If anyone were to ask me if I would have another event there the answer would be yes. But I would definitely reiterate ordering enough food for the number of guests.”
