“I love this homeschool co-op! It's been just what I've needed to accompany my homeschooling journey with my daughter. FCA has given my daughter a solid group of awesome friends, fun field trips, great classes (taught by moms of FCA) and a wonderful Christian community. It's small and sweet, yet professionally and prayerfully run by an outstanding group of volunteer mothers. Fairhaven is Christlike, friendly and encouraging, and I can't even think what our homeschooling journey would be like without it.”

“I love this school! I don't usually write reviews but since I actually looked at these when I was first deciding on daycare/school for my son, I decided to join the nice people on here who helped me out tremendously. They were great with my shy son from the beginning and now he has become this independent, excited to read, learn math, and social little overachiever. I would recommend this school to all my friends and family.”

“We are so grateful for Teacher Meg and Salamander School! Highly recommended!!! I had been looking for a drop-off nature program for my daughter to supplement her coop preschool (she is 4) and I am so happy this school exists. I wish it had been around when my older child was in preschool. There is nothing else like Salamander School in the South Bay... SF and Berkeley and other places in the Bay have forest preschools, but not in SJ or the South Bay until Salamander (well, since Leaping Lizards closed). Since the school is relatively new, it is such an intimate experience, and would continue to be so even at capacity. I always find my child happily in a tree when I come to pick her up. My daughters feels so connected to the animals she encounters at forest preschool and talks about them after school. She is more confident and has a longer stamina for being on "hikes" since we started with Teacher Meg. I am learning facts about nature from her (that I didn't know before!) when we hike on our own! When I'm feeling rushed, my daughter helps remind me to pick up trash, to be compassionate and good stewards of Mother Earth. Teacher Meg is intentional, passionate, and thorough. She is calm and patient with the children and songs, stories, and large chunks of time for free play are all in support of their learning and development. We looked into Waldorf (and there was much we loved about it) but ended up at another school. Much of the Salamander curriculum is influenced by Waldorf early childhood education theories and I'm so grateful my daughter gets to experience it. If you are family that values time in nature, and want to foster the love of land in children, I highly recommend contacting Teacher Meg. You first spend time at the park to see if it's a good match for your child and family. Please research all the health and learning benefits of children in nature! (Look up the works of Richard Louv, for example.)”

“Our daughter is currently in kindergarten and we love SCA!! Her teacher, Mrs. Schroeder, is amazing! We recently had our first parent-teacher conference and were surprised at just how much she knew about our daughter. It showed us not only how much Mrs. Schroeder cares about the kids but also that SCA’s small class sizes really allow each child to have the attention they deserve. We also like that core subjects are tailored to each child’s level and LOVE the Spanish and Mandarin lessons (the language teachers have been awesome so far!). We’re also looking forward to seeing how our daughter progresses over the years (measured by MAP growth) rather than being pressured by standardized testing. STEM is also taught twice a week in a really fun way! I could go on and on but I’ll just end by saying that it’s a positive and nourishing environment (the school emphasizes socio-emotional learning and positive psychology) and my daughter loves going to school!”

“I've had three children attend Heaven's Little Treasures, and couldn't be happier. Michelle is very kind and patient with the children. She spends time everyday teaching them. My son knew his numbers, letters, sight words, days of the week etc by 2 and a half thanks to Michelle. She also potty trained him! I love that they can play outside and she takes them to the park often. I would highly recommend Heaven's little treasures.”

“I joined PCS, unsure at first and contemplating a career move. You will find the teachers Janna, Olga, Sofia, Michael and Artem, who have solid knowledge of their subjects, will guide well. You will most likely be also helped by Sofia who looks out for you once you start applying. The internship, offered at the end of the class, will give you sound experience that makes the transition to the real job a bit more manageable. It really came to believing in yourself, the teachers, the school. The school was a crucial stepping stone in my career move and it delivered on its promises! Do your best!”

They are COVID-19 ready with face shields for their instructors. There are quite a few sanitizing stations for guests. One adult per kid/family to maintain social distancing. Instructors are organized and friendly. They are kind with the kids. :)”

“Oak Grove is a really good school with good students and good staff. People say it's a "bad school" because there are a lot of hispanics, but that doesn't change the way teachers teach. The school being mostly hispanic doesn't mean that just because of that the students aren't smart or there is more violence or anything like that. If a child is gonna use drugs or fight or not try in school, they will do it in any school not just Oak Grove. I had the best three years there and had great friends, so if you're asking, yes it's a good school.”
