The facility was beautiful and the staff were knowledgeable and hospitable. I came in for a leg brace adjustment out of the blue and Douglas was able to fit me in and helped me get my brace figured out and fit properly! Awesome customer service!
These therapists really know their business! They not only work with you and your need, but have care and compassion for your abilities and capacity as they bring out the best in moving you forward.

After 11 yrs of grand mal seizures on a monthly basis my body went from 145 lbs to 117 lbs. I could not lift a galion of milk. Aug 2016 I had brain surgery that removed the area causing the seizures and later was introduced to Pro Active physical therapy in Strasburg, CO. The team of employees softly motivated me to re learn certain physical actions which improved my bodies ability to rebuild itself. The therapist that taught me theses actions was Kevin Cowell. After 3 weeks I was able to walk without solid pain and after 5 weekly visits I was able to pick up the gallon of milk for the first time, I cried with happiness.
My body started rebuilding muscles and my weight went up 15 lbs. The toughest part of building muscle is repetitive actions. That progress is simply up to the patient motivation to rebuild themselves. At first I spent just 15 mins a day stretching at home. After 15 weeks of physical therapy I was able to lift 5 lbs with my right side (area mostly damaged from seizures) and 10 lbs with left side. Thanks to my VA Healthcare I was granted enough visits to truly raise the bar of my physical ability to be normal again. Kevin's ability to progress the stretches he taught me as my body progressed was wonderful!
The toughest lesson learned is that my definition of normal didn't come back after serious damage. But rebuilding my ability to define what my normal is was the toughest lesson of physical therapy. A gentalman who works there as an assistant, named Jake, helped me learn a great lesson. To gain confidence in my ability to rebuild myself for my new future with out seizures. That is what helped me push myself physically to get myself as healthy as I am now!
After 9 months of physical therapy, thanks to my General Doctor, I am back to 145 lbs, can lift 10-15 lbs with my right arm and 25 lbs with my left arm. I can now walk 10,000 steps a day, climb 6 levels of stairs, and still retain energy! That is now my new Normal, which always makes my cry happily for I honestly never though I would ever get back the opportunity to physically succeed. Amen.
My advice is massage those muscles after a tough workout, which helps that muscle repair at a faster rate. Sure helped me push myself above and beyond to get me where I am now.
