  Beautiful trails, campgrounds and plenty of people ice fishing during the winter.
  
  One of my go to spots for running, especially early in the morning when you can see the sunrise over the reservoir. It can get pretty fully, especially around the lake, so dress accordingly.

  The only thing preventing me from getting five stars is the condition of the asphalt roads within the park. They have been left to crack and become very uneven. Aside from this feeling the park is lovely! I bicycled through it and will totally do so again when I have the occasion to be thus far south of my front door in Thornton. The lake is excellent with sandy beaches and in the summer that is a swimming beach, something I didn't know after living in town for 8 years. There are opportunities for seeing wildlife, hiking, biking, picnics, and other outdoor activities.

  I take my dog to the Dog Off Leash Area at least three times per week and she loves it. The whole park is great. There are paved paths, unpaved paths, it's easy to access, and there's plenty to do. You can easily access the park from the neighborhoods nearby if you don't want to pay for a vehicle permit, but a yearly pass is pretty affordable. The park rangers are full of information about the park and things to do. The beach is nice and it's especially fun to ride along Dam Road (no entry to the park required)

  This park is amazing. The grounds are stunning and surprisingly well maintained. My pups especially love coming here since they normally don't get a ton of off leash time. The only downside to this park is that it can be tough to get parking when the weather is good but it's to be expected. We bought the yearly pass for parking and it paid for itself within a month!
