Ranger Cottage

Thank you to the rangers who gave us the permission for a photo shooting on a very important day. The place is full of resources, a must if you are planning to hike in the region.

So neat! Awesome employees to walk you through the history and point out artifacts I would've otherwise missed. Great place to warm up if visiting the park on a cold day.

Debbie was soooooo helpful for it being my first time ever hiking and ever being in Boulder!! I'd been overwhelmed with excitement of just being there and Debbie made me feel so welcomed. She took the time to explain everything, was very patient with my questions, AND even offered to take my picture by the Welcome to Chautauqua sign, hence, my name haha! I loved her. Thank you so much Debbie for making my experience so worth it!! ????

The Ranger Cottage has maps and more information about Boulder’s Open Space and Mountain Parks. It’s open year round (Hours vary between summer and winter). There’s also a neat animal exhibit inside. Sometimes during the winter they give out free tea and hot chocolate. Also, a lot of their free programs meet up here.
You can access a lot of western trails from here. It’s an awesome place to get a view of the Flatirons.
