Little Church In The Pines

My Great Great Grandfather built this church. His Name was Henry Meyring, and he was a miner in Salina. His main claim to fame was discovering the Melvina Mine at the top of Melvina Road Nearby. He built the house next to this church, the blue one. When his wife Sarah became upset about the low morals of the town, he built her a church. As far as I know, he built it by himself, and you can tell that it is an ode to the carpenter's craft. Everything is wood inside and out, other than the foundation. In the 20''s and 30's it stopped being used as a church and became a mine assay office. However, the building has been lovingly restored, and added onto and now serves again as the town's (and all of Four Mile Canyon's church)

It's a wonderful little community Church nestled into the side of a mountain in the tiny community of Salina. It was almost lost in the fires of 2011 and again in the floods of 2013, but it's still there.
