Waneka Lake Park

Waneka Lake Park is the focal point of Lafayette. It has a beautiful and maintained path around the lake offering scenery in every direction. It has a nature center that’s often open on the weekends and a bird watching area on a nearby marsh. It has a fun and shaded playground. There are often exercise classes happening and soccer practices happening in the fields. There is also a disc golf course. There is a basketball court that isn’t as well kept as the rest. In the summer you can rent paddle boats and kayaks from the boathouse.

Update 10/2022: The new 4 Pickleball courts are often being used and are a lot of fun.

Decent-sized lake with a clean/paved trail. Pretty view of the mountains. Went on a Sunday afternoon and the trail wasn’t too busy.

Great walk! It’s so nice to have the gorgeous mountains in the background on this peaceful, easy stroll. Long enough that you can get a workout in, but easy enough that you don’t need to break a sweat if you don’t want to. Definitely hope to come back many times, especially in the different seasons!

I always enjoy walking around Waneka Lake. It's a great place to walk the dogs and enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather. It's also one of the best places for 4th of July fireworks, lots of space to sit lakeside and watch the show.

One of my all time favorite walks. They have exercise stations all around the trail. There are clean restrooms so drink your water. The view is spectacular. There's picnic tables and a kids park too. There's pedal boats in the summer and 2 different parking lots.
