Greg over at Slodrive Racing is the only mechanic I trust to work on my 06 wrx. My car was misfiring, and running poor under partial throttle with horrible gas mileage. Then when I got to the shop, it decided not to start at all. Greg went through all of the normal diagnostics you'd perform with those symptoms to no avail. He relentlessly continued to troubleshoot until he found some corroded wires causing the problem. He not only replaced the wires, but fabricated a new protective case just so the issue wouldn't happen again. The car runs perfectly again thanks to Greg's creative troubleshooting.
Greg always looks over the car and will give me the heads up on the service items coming down the road. This is not to imply he pressures you into anything, quite the contrary. He'll give you an honest answer if a maintenance item can wait or is critical to get fixed. He's also a creative mechanic that has a racing background so he's not afraid to recommend a better aftermarket part that may give your car better reliable performance over stock. I can't recommend this shop highly enough. If you're a driving enthusiast, this is your mechanic!
