Great office! Everyone is friendly and knowledgeable. So glad I got referred here!!
I came to Anderson Podiatry because I had numbness in both feet that I had been experiencing for
two years. I had not been diagnosed for peripheral neuropathy, but many of my symptoms were similar to those of neuropathy sufferers, I found out from the internet on the subject. I am pre-diabetic, with an A1C of 5.7. It is important to note that my main complaint is numbness, and not pain. I do not have pain, and I am able to sleep at night. Two years ago I had a bout of plantar faciitis in my left foot that I was addressing, and two months in, I had an episode of inflammed feet (both) that came on quickly and left both feet tingling and, later, numb, with stiffness in both ankles. In two years, I went through physical therapy, chiropractic, Chinese accupuncture, herb therapy, and micro-decompression back surgery of L3-4-5,
but my numbness symptoms have remained.
One evening two months ago, I Googled “surgery for foot neuropathy,” and found Dr. Anderson’s website with several videos explaining a different approach to treatment of neuropathy from medications, etc. The approach involves the possibility that certain nerves serving the leg and foot may have become entrapped and need releasing in some patients. I watched the videos, read all the testimonials, noted some reference names and procedures and Googled them for more background, learning that this approach is gaining more notice over the years as patients are tired of taking medications that do not address underlying causes of their symptoms. I finally called and made an appointment in late May 2018. Dr. Anderson listened carefully to my symptoms and conducted several tests to determine what the source(s) of my symptoms is (are). My feet had been numb for nearly two years, so we chose the conservative route first, which resulted in two “E-stimulation” sessions/week for 7 weeks, to determine the condition of the nerves in my feet and perhaps be able to counter the symptoms at that level of treatment. I have just finished those sessions. Whereas I found the sessions to be stimulating and the nerves in my feet still firing, my symptoms indicate that decompression surgery of the superior peroneal and tibial nerves will be required to give me back more of the feeling I have lost in the tops and bottoms of my feet. I am scheduled to have my first procedure in early August, followed with the second procedure three weeks later. My compliments to Dr. Anderson and his excellent staff who are professional and friendly. I have felt very well-cared for at each step of the way.
Dr Anderson is awesome. He takes the time to listen and talk to you about your condition to determine the best treatment options.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Anderson. I came in with tendon problems from running and was hoping for a relatively quick fix to get back out on the trail. He was very patient and understanding in listening to my concerns and offered a few different options. He told me about the pros and cons of each, what was covered by insurance and what wasn't and most importantly what could save me from surgery down the road. It was refreshing to have such an open and honest conversation, I felt like he really cared about my recovery and wanted me to make a decision I was comfortable with! I chose the stem cell route and am so glad I did! It saved me from possible surgery and a long layup. I'm back to running with no problems yet. So glad I found him!
I had made the decision to have a double bunion surgery on both feet and Dr. Anderson talked me through what to expect, recovery time and the surgery itself. I was very pleased with the result and follow up.
