Amazing view up in the mountains. Visiting from Florida it was a fantastic time. Drive up was a little sketchy but driving next to a cliff anywhere with no rail would be for me. Highly recommended for anyone.
It's about an 1.5 drive from Denver. Be careful because there's many turns and the streets are a bit on the narrow side. However, once you reach the top, it's totally worth it. The hike isn't for everyone though. Prepare well. Entrance to the park is $15.
Fun drive up mountain Rd not for the faint of heart. Nice views and cool breeze. Too bad Rd to the top was closed for the season. A challenge to get parking but with a Jeep no problem. At all
Incredibly scenic location around this alpine lake on the way to Mount Evans. Lots of wildlife including mountain sheeps/ goats to observe. Breathing could be a bit difficult due to the high altitude. Crystal clear waters, nice clean facilities and plenty of parking. Bring warm clothes as it was very cold even in the dead of summer.
This is a beautiful lake in the mountains. It's sits at 13,000 feet in elevation, so move slowly and take deep breaths if you decide to walk around. The water is clear and there is snow still clinging to the crevices - in September. The drive up is beautiful and you end up above the treeline. It's like a different world up there.
