The staff is very friendly and helped us plan out exactly what we wanted to do while we were in the area.
The museum portion is a great place to learn more about the history of the town and mining
Lovely front desk lady was very informative and knew her stuff!! We did much of what she recommended and it was all very fun. We also did the museum tour and learned a lot about the town.
Miniatures, gold stories from the 1850s. A stunning ore and mineral display. Super friendly staff and you self guide through all the heritage. I didnt want to leave but they gave me some tips to get my mining gears on. A delightful way to learn how quickly the mountains became boomtowns.
Nice displays, friendly folks. Definitely worth a visit.
Very fun and interesting museum of mining and ancillary the trades supporting mining. The Blacksmith tools is one of the truly best collections I have ever seen. Numerous tongs, large bellow, and a sample of mining drill bits brought by the miner's to be reconditioned. Some were small and many large long ones. One of the fascinating displays was of the mining explosives and the blasting patterns used to blast the ore loose. There also was a huge bellows used to force fresher air into the mines to expel the toxic gases. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable.
I thought this experience was very worthwhile. Come for a visit.
