  As a general dentist, I can confidently tell you that Dr. Karmali is one of the best endodontists in the world.

  This experience was so amazing that I thought about it all the way home last night, all day today, and will probably keep thinking about it into the months to come.
  
  1. It is amazing to be around people who live in gratitude, treat one another with honor, love, and respect, and offer this same treatment to their clients. I loved being around the courtesy and kindness Dr. Karmali and his staff showed one another. I think is says much about an office in which joy, emotional safety, and fun seems to just be the order of the day. I want to be around these kinds of people always. Thank you, Dr. Karmali, for taking the lead in creating this kind of atmosphere in your office. I heard Dr. Karmali give genuine praise to Julie as she expertly assisted him; I heard in Julie's voice the safety to ask for clarification if needed; I heard and saw their comfort level in their work relationship. This is an office where there may never be turn-over.
  
  2. Julie, Hannah, and Yazmin, his excellent office staff, worked with me to figure out how the timing of my appointment could accommodate the long drive. Julie offered to stay late (as did Dr. Karmali) so we could complete the procedure in one visit. This would not have been the choice landed upon if time between had been better for the health of my tooth; but since this wasn't part of the equation, this compassionate staff did everything they could to minimize my drives down to Denver (3 hrs one way).
  
  3. I watched how thoroughly Dr. Karmali studied the charts and x-rays he had taken of my tooth. He did not hurry over his study. He spent so much time thinking about what the particular need of this particular tooth was; it was obvious it was not a "one size fits all" approach to endodontistry. I watched how attentively he listened and really heard me as I explained the history of the tooth involved. I kept wanting to say, "thank you for SEEING me; I mean, really SEEING me. And for really HEARING me." I know all professionals "see" their patients, but I've got to say, it has become unusual to really feel seen and heard. . . especially as I age, and the doctors are younger and perhaps more interested in the younger generation. Yesterday, I felt like a person that mattered to every human being in that office.
  
  4. As a lay person, I was impressed with the level of expertise the entire staff displayed as they worked. I was amazed, just flabbergasted, by how slowy, carefully, and thoroughly Dr. Karmali's work was on my tooth. His careful use of drills, taking off micro-pieces instead of big chunks; well, compared to other dental experiences, it was like I'd had beginners with axes in there in all previous experiences. I wish no one else had ever been in my mouth.
  
  5. Dr. Karmali insisted on no pain. And that's exactly what happened. During. And, after. My teeth have never fit together as well as they do today. I have never in my life had such thorough care of any part of my body as that tooth received yesterday.
  
  6. I'm tempted to give a terrible review, because I would like Dr. Karmali and his staff to be a well-kept secret so they don't get so many patients that I can't get in. But I think everyone longs to have the kind of dental experience I had yesterday, so will go ahead and post this review.

  I had a great experience getting a root canal from Dr Karmali. I've had more than my fair share of dental work, including several root canals prior to seeing him, and it was by far the best experience I've had. I went in because I'd been in pain for a few weeks and it continued to get worse, after the consultation he said it was likely my pain gets much worse in the near future, and said he could stay late that night if I could come back.
  
  He was very thorough in explaining what the issue was, how it would be treated, the timeline, how much pain I should experience. He put some ice on the roof of my mouth before numbing it, which I've never experienced before and made that awful shot in the roof of your mouth almost painless. He tips the chair back farther than I'm used to, which made the blood rush to my head a bit, that's my only complaint. The office was very clean and high tech without seeming extravagant. Once he started with the process he didn't waste a second. His assistant would hand him tools and he never broke his concentration to look for anything or pause and think.
  
  Overall just a very positive experience, and most of all he quickly got me out of pain and back to normal. I will definitely go back if I need another root canal or crown.

  Amazing. Pain free. It sounds funny to say my root canal was a good experience.

  After many infections in a failed root canal I was sure that my tooth had to be removed. Dr. Karmali evaluated my tooth and after five pain free treatments my tooth two years later is pain and infection free.
