GREAT AA meeting. I happen to like any Saints, and this is an older church that has interesting (to me) art on the walls. Not too far north of 1-25, on the east side of University, with ample parking in back. It feels welcoming when you step into the building. It's just that kind of place????
This is THE church for Christ centered Anglo Catholics. Relevant and moving sermons, beautiful and grand music-pipe organ, and gorgeous liturgy.
Beautiful funeral for a close friend well remembered.
St. Michael's is a wonderful and welcoming church. The worship and music are uniquely beautiful and might seem formal if you've never been to an Anglo-Catholic Mass, but the people aren't the least bit stuffy. I saw this especially when my 15-month-old decided to test his vocal range during the quiet moments. My wife and I worried the we would get disapproving stares, but instead, multiple people greeted us after mass to say how much they love hearing babies at church, since they represent hope for the future. This church is really a special place.
St. Michael and All Angels' Episcopal Church was founded on Michaelmas in 1925 by Canon Henry Watts as a parochial mission on the southeast corner of Arkansas and University. Services were first held in a small abandoned concrete basement, where he and 10-15 communicants worshiped.
