Didn't have change
The second time I went to the Tejon market I brought my friends. I made sure they knew how important this was to me. We went in and there he was, standing behind the counter. The god among men, and angel descended upon earth. My savior! My friends and I got food and drinks, then took it to the counter. I stood off to the side, watching him work. He was so angelic with his movement and the way he scanned our things. A couple minutes later it was my turn, I put my items on the counter and we caught eyes. He looked sad, like he saw goose get hit by a Frisbee. Before he could tell me the price I handed him $10 and told him to keep the change. He cracked a surprised smile. I did it, I was now the savior! I helped a god, an angel. This establishment is means more to me then my friends do.
The first time I went to the Tejon market I felt at home. The atmosphere was pure happiness, I felt a sense of peace. I grabbed a can of Pringles and an Arizona and took it to the counter where this gentle, beautiful black man was staring at me. I put my items on the counter, and watched as he gracefully scanned them. He told me the price, and I was short 74 cents. I looked up in sadness as I told him the predicament I was in and to take off the Pringles. He looked to me and said "It's ok, you can just give what you have". At that moment I knew this man was a savior, a god among men, an angel descended upon the earth.
