Howard Johnson in Lubbock, Texas….. probably the best overall location my family has ever stayed. The owners are very kind, friendly people, who obviously have a wonderful concern for their guests. They provide an extremely clean, beautifully decorated, 100% comfortable room, and the property is exceptionally clean and welcoming. The $50 deposit proves that you will be staying in a room that is very cared for, clean, and you receive the funds back if there are no damages to the room upon checkout. It is extremely worth it, as the cost of the stay is the most reasonable rate I’ve come across yet. I definitely recommend this property for one night or many nights. You’ll be comfortable and it’s the closest thing to being at home in your own bed!

Not sure why there are so many terrible reviews? I slept great! My room was large and clean and cold. Yes the building is dated and the breakfast might not be worth getting up for (but come on, are they ever really?), but for the price and easy access to the highway, it’s a perfect road trip stop. The front desk people were also very nice.
