The Ricks Center is a wonderful school with so many great teachers! Located on Denver university campus students get many perks through the university that other schools just can't offer. The Ricks Center for Gifted Children is a unique organization with a legacy of innovation and excellence. The national reputation of this Preschool through 8th grade school has been constructed through the diligent and thoughtful adherence to the mission which is to “provide a dynamic and challenging educational environment that anticipates and responds to the individual intellectual, social, emotional, physical, aesthetic, and cognitive needs of gifted children.”

Ricks is so much more than an ordinary school. It is a school community of caring students, teachers, administrators and parents. A truly inviting, attractive, and safe learning environment where it is obvious that students are enthusiastically and meaningfully engaged in their education. Individually, and as a whole, I have seen first-hand how supported, safe and comfortable the students feel. I have seen Ricks' core values in action and I have seen mutual respect and the relationship driven education.

With its Director, Ms. Anne Sweet, and her team at the helm, the school works as a community to really develop responsibility, sensitivity, and resourcefulness in the students. The teachers are wonderful and loving, and everyone is so caring and focused on the students' individuality. The administration is engaging and actively involved with all the kids and parents. Ms. Sweet is attuned and confident in her expertise and will share with you conversations that are necessary if we desire to raise our kids for the ever-changing and complex world. With her unquestionable integrity, uncompromising work ethic, and, most importantly, compassionate and conscientious leadership, Director Anne has been a breath of fresh air at Ricks and we feel ever so fortunate to have her at our school.

Ricks is an amazing, exemplary model for schools and I cannot recommend it highly enough!!

This has been a good place for my kids. They have opportunities to try new things and there is an emphasis on social growth. Especially like the new math curriculum and electives for MS kids. Well worth the tuition.

There have recently been a lot of changes at Ricks and they are all for the better. Don't judge the school by old reviews. My son is in 2nd grade there and he is thriving. He loves going to school. He is excited about learning and growing tremendously emotionally and socially. He is very smart but needed the right environment to nurture his gifts and thrive. You should check it out for yourself and see if it's the right fit for your child. We love it.

I went to Ricks for eleven years before I graduated last spring. I have to say those were the best eleven years of my life. Ricks is not just a school it is a second home. At Ricks I made life long friends and had amazing teachers. Ricks gave me impeccable social and creative abilities that I would not have been able to obtain anywhere else. The thing that is most amazing about Ricks is the supportive environment you are welcomed into everyday. This unique environment is what helps turn young children into young adults. As a now freshman in high school I can say that if I hadn't had gone to Ricks I would not be the person I am today.
