“The school is a lot better than most public schools, there's more freedom, but I find the English teacher for the middle school works us a little bit too hard. She assigns us a ton of work without thinking about the other work loads other teachers have given us. Even on shorter weeks, she expects us to do the same amount of work. She is adding a whole NEW program as well, adding yet another thing for us to do each block. Her syllibi are, in lack of nicer words, the WORST out of all of the teachers, and that is saying a lot, seeing as the math teacher doesn't even provide a proper, printed out one. She doesn't put exact dates on hers, instead she just says "week one" and tells us the dates. I know she wants us to write stuff down as soon as she tells us, but it would still be nice to know just in case we missed it. Sometimes we will come to her with a question, and her answer will simply just be "Look at the sylibus" but the problem is, usually the question is asked because it wasn't in the Sylibus in the first place! Towards the middle of the year, I have found, she starts to become behind. She has a basket where we turn in our work, and she will REFUSE to even touch our work if we hand it in to her, rather than putting it in the basket. The problem is, she just lets the work pile up, and then grade it before it's due, because there's so much of it. This means if you were one of the first, or last to turn it in, you're likely to either get a missing, or late grade, when in reality, you turned it in on time, and it was simply her fault for not grading it sooner. I remember last year, the entire school had Fs for English because she was so behind. Anyways, If you're thinking about putting your kid into our middle school, and you're reading this, go for it! The whole thing is my opinion, and many people love our English teacher. She is a good teacher in many ways, the whole staff is, they're all very kind, and always eager to help out. All you need to be concerned about is that if your kid isn't very good at time management, or big tasks, they may be a little stressed. I promise you, that once they really buckle down, everything will be alright.”
