Alan Garscadden, MD

Dr. G took care of my son's health and medical needs for 18 yrs. He is always attentive, caring, accurate and kind. We will be forever grateful to have had him to help guide us with the medical decisions that came up from birth to high school graduation, Thank you Dr G!

Dr. Garscadden is the best pediatrician and my three have all gone to him. We started seeing Dr G in February of 2002 when my first son was born early. He was compassionate and knowledgeable. My sons are 14,17 and 19. We have not seen any other ongoing pedestrian except for Dr. G. He helped us with diagnosis and referral with high functioning autism, gluten + dairy intolerance and supported my son’s use of a service dog. He helped us thru numerous ear infections and advised having my youngest sons tonsils removed if the surgeon ENT Dr thought it was the right path. It was and he has been the healthiest of the three. As my children got older Dr G. spoke to them more than me. He would ask my input but his child clients have a voice. He is calm and a few times my boys asked to speak to him in private.

Dr. G should teach other doctors on bedside manners and approaches to take with new parents. His grasp of child development is amazing and he listens. He is one of the few doctors that I have ever met that respects that I know my children. He is humble and funny. The boys really feel comfortable with him even as teenagers.

When we first started seeing Dr. G, his office was located in the South West part of the city. He was about a mile from my house. A few years later, he moved to the North East part of the city. It takes me 30 minutes to get my boys to his office and it is worth it each time.

I have know Dr G as my children’s pediatrician for almost two decades and I hope my youngest is able to continue seeing him for 4-5 more years.

Dr. Garscadden is the best! We just had our first child and I’m so glad we decided to go to Optum. He explains everything so well and he’s wonderful with children. I know my son is in good hands. He is a very busy doctor but it is because he is in high demand and is amazing. Even if you have to occasionally see another doctor they are all wonderful. We just prefer Dr. Garscadden. If you want to feel confident in the care your child is getting don’t hesitate to see him!!

He’s the Best! And the only pediatrician I want for my girls! When we moved here to the springs it was something I was very worried about choosing for my (at the time) only daughter. We came to (Davita) then- now I believe is Optum. And was happy enough with our then pediatrician. There weren’t any problem or anything but something as a mom kept telling me that I was going to need for my daughter a different pediatrician who was exceptional and could meet our special needs for our family. When I had my second daughter here in the springs I grew more anxious and was worried. I just wanted my girls to have the right and best doctor for them! Dr. Garscadden came in during the morning rounds after just having my baby girl. Answer to my prayers! I knew immediately after he took the time to explain to me my worries about jaundice, and other worries that a hormonal mom who just gave birth could go crazy over! He was a pleasure to have in the room even when you SO tired, and never made me feel stupid or bothersome! Not to mention he was wonderfully sweet to my baby girl! He left the room...I knew I needed to call ASAP to make sure this would be my daughters pediatrician! He has been since and every visit he’s thorough and compassionate and ready to help children and their parents in any way he can! This is a very generous doctor! He’s the best! What every parent wants for their child!

One of the hardest things about moving away from CO to NC was having to leave the best pediatrician on the planet behind. He really could write the book on bedside manner and was the only Doctor I ever have given a Christmas present. When my daughter Kaitlin was 6 months old, she was hospitalized for seizures. I had to use the restroom and left the room for a bit. When I came back in, Dr. G was looking over her in her crib while gently stroking her head. What Doctor does that? Amazing! When I was going to have a c-section with my youngest daughter Bethany, he offered to coordinate his schedule to be there with me. He was the first doctor to examine her minutes after birth. I could go on and on about how amazing he is. My daughter Chelsea and son Tyler keep urging me to send an updated picture to him since we left in 2012. Soon Dr. G, soon. We love you!
