Such a great hike filled with beauty. Well worth taking the time to visit & you might be convinced to go back! This one is a must if you like hiking & want to catch the essence of Colorado. Still a hidden gem. With the crazy influx of people I hope it doesn't get overrun with people who are to citified to enjoy this parks true beauty!!
Pulpit Rock is an easy to medium difficulty hike depending on what part of the area is your destination. Going to the peak of the bluff is more of a medium level hike. There are some steep areas and it has a variety of terrain. You get a good view of the Western region of Colorado Springs at the top. By far the best part about the pulpit rock hike is its access. You literally pull off the road about 100 ft and you are at the base of the trail.
After 7 years looking at Pulpit Rock from the road. I ventured on the trail leading to what I expected would be expansive views of the Springs area and Front Range. I was pleased to take in the vista from atop a boulder. Unfortunately, I picked a time of day when the Pulpit Rock area was packed with visitors - most teens who were boisterous, yet fun to eavesdrop as they discussed rock climbing and their love of rock faces! It was an overall great experience being there - short hike, great views and now each time I drive past Pulpit Park I feel good knowing I was there ...
Beautiful park. Mule deer were super cute. Wish people picked up after their dogs.
