We've gone on several trails here and they're all great. We do wish the main road was open during the week, but you can still get to the trails/hike the trails if you're willing to do that. We hiked about seven miles total on two different trails today with a four year old and it was great!
Went on a really nice hike starting at the Lower Columbine trail. We were going to do this hike but the road was closed. We went about 3 miles on the Lower and Middle trails. There was about a 1,100 elevation gain but it didn't feel like it. We went up to Gold Camp Rd at the top and then came down Spring Creek trail. The hike was very pretty and we saw parts of the canyon we had not seen before. We hiked about 6.5 miles doing sort of a loop rather than an out and back
Fun picnic spot along creek with lovely hiking trails and stone bridges. Next to Helen Hunt Fallls. Great place for all ages
I will assume the best, though the road was closed off for the week. I mostly wanted to post this to encourage people to check with the park before venturing. Neither google maps nor All trails caught this one (perhaps because it isn't peak hiking season).
Beautiful place. Unfortunately the gate to drive up was closed. Be prepared to walk 2.8 miles up and down. Sore today but well worth it.
