The families many trips to Colorado since the 40's have made Colorado a traditional summer retreat - even year 'round for the rest of us! We Love Colorado We visited Manitou Christmas 2019 only to find the Cog Railway in reconstruction mode. Bling Blinky of TEXAS has to Shout Out: We will be back!

(June 21, 2018, 2:10 pm)Pikes Peak is AMAZING. Don't let the fact that its a 3 hour trip discourage you! It is well worth it! Even if the weather isn't the best. We visited in August when it was raining and about 30 degrees at the top (which is nothing compared to the winter weather) but despite the rain, the views were still magical. The conductors of the train were very friendly and wanted to get to know all of the passengers. They told the stories magnificently and made you feel like you were immersed in the history of Pike's Peak Itself. Once at the top, we tried the famous donuts, which to me were a huge let down. The flavoring was off but i still ate the whole thing anyways! Pikes Peak is so high up that we were able to literally stand in a cloud that was forming in front of our eyes! I wish you could spend more time at the top since this is a once in a life time experience for an out-of-stater, but i enjoyed and loved every moment of this!
