If you can, bike up the road to Lookout Mountain. Cool views all the way and plenty of spots to rest if you need to. The ride downhill is super fun too.

We really enjoyed this park. This was one of our first stops once we got to Denver after Red Rocks and Golden. This was a nice preliminary elevation as we are not used to the heights. We drove up the back of the mountain which was a pretty easy drive. We stopped at by the Lookout Mountain Park and the Buffalo Bill Tomb. Both of the parks were well kept and had excellent views. After we left, we went down the front (east side) of the mountain, and that road has a number of sharp turns, pedestrians/bikers, and amazing views.

We arrived straight up from Golden where the road is winding and steep. It's a great fun ride - if you're not afraid of heights. Ther views from the park are amazing. You definitely won't be disappointed. You can drive all the way up with no hiking if you don't want to.

My wife and I drove out from Minnesota to take honeymoon pictures. It would have been nicer if there had been fewer people and a bit more snow. This is not a complaint of any sort, just an observation. Overall, the park is beautiful. There is some graffiti along the road because humans in general can't avoid spoiling things for everyone else. If you are the one driving, avoid looking down the slopes on the side of the road or you may experience intense vertigo.

We parked at the Buffalo Bill museum and walked partway down the mountain, backtracked, collected our Jeep, drove down to the next significant parking lot, and repeated the process.

Beware of hikers and bicyclists. They are EVERYWHERE and you run down entire packs of then if you aren't paying attention.

All of that said, I had a fantastic time, my wife seems to have enjoyed herself and took a bunch of pictures of us that she doesn't hate and our dog had a blast sniffing things and peeing on every tree we walked past.
